My Vision Journal Story.
A new year brings in opportunity to set new goals through which you can set your dream life.
A Very Happy New Year To You.
(Bear with me I am still learning all about Newsletters)
Thank You for Subscribing to my Newsletter and a very warm welcome to the CreativeNerd World.
Every Wednesday I will be sending a valuable packed newsletter to you.
And, this 1st January 2025, being the first Wednesday of the year, I decided to share this inspiring story behind my vision journal.
I am sure, with the beginning of the new year— we all are pumped to crush our goals and become a better version of ourselves.
Don’t worry. You are not alone. I am with you too.
The only difference is that I have been consistently working on becoming the best version of myself since September 2024.
I didn’t wait till January 2025 to start to begin ‘The New Me’ journey.
I also happened to make my vision journal this year.
Because I am taking my life and self-growth very seriously this time.
I really want to achieve my dream life so desperately, that some days I am so pumped to finish off a year full of work within hours, and some days I am so low—I wish to just get into my blanket and binge-watch Netflix.
But, I still push myself to accomplish at least one tiny task on days I don’t feel like doing anything. It could be just posting one tweet, but doing it.
This helps to keep the momentum running without putting a lot of pressure on yourself.
And, sometimes by accomplishing that tiny task, you get motivated to continue to do some more work.
This is why I decided to get into making a Vision Journal this year—to keep my focus on my dream life rather than on the demons I keep facing.
How did I create a vision Journal?
I watched a lot of people making their vision Board. And, so I thought I wanted to make one for myself too.
But I don’t want to make a board, I want to make a journal where I can also document my journey of achieving them one by one.
And, so I did it. Read along to know how.
It’s simple.
Rather than making a vision board, I bought an A5 size blank booK.
I wrote down my goals in certain aspects of my life. Like—
Health, Wealth, Relationships, Career.
For Health— I wish to start going to the gym at least 3 days a week to begin with.
For wealth—I wish to cross a certain amount of dollars within a month
For Relationship: make healthy friendships who will help me and inspire me to grow along.
For Career: I want to become the best copywriter and brand identity designer.
These were to give you an example.
In my vision journal, I have been very specific, I have mentioned the amount of money I wish to earn per month, and I have mentioned the qualities I want in the man I wish to settle down.
Then I found some similar pictures according to my vision goals and my ideal life on Pinterest, downloaded them, and printed them out.
On the first page, of the vision journal, I just laid out the basic pictures I wish to accomplish this year.
For the following pages, I have dedicated 2 pages for each aspect like 2 pages for health where I pasted a few pictures like— a woman working in the gym, healthy food, women in good shape, and women doing meditation.
Likewise, you can also photoshop yourself into those pictures to make them more personal and specific. This also could he;p boost your motivation to achieve your goals.
I then have written down all the things specifically I wish to achieve like crossing 10k subscribers for my newsletters.
I am very possessive about my goals and don’t wish to reveal them before I achieve them. So I am not sharing any pictures here.
But maybe by the end of the year 2025, I WILL.
Tips to help you make your own Vision Board/Journal.
Before you begin to make your vision journal, clear out your mind, the space where you wish to start making your vision board or journal.
Gather all the items needed to make your vision journal/board.
Take a deep breath and close your eyes.
Envision yourself achieving all your goals in 2025, and your dream life.
Take a moment to live that dream in your head.
Then start with jotting down your goals on a piece of paper before starting to make your vision board and journal.
After, that just lose yourself and let the creativity flow.
Don’t think much-don’t stress about it.
While making the vision board/journal make sure to feel the vibe of actually making your dream life, your goals your dreams come true.
Don’t think about how will you even achieve them. Think you have already made a path to achieve them.
After finishing it, go through everything and feel the feeling of your vision journal/board.
Write down the steps you will need to take or what changes in life you need to make to accomplish these goals.
Every day after waking up or before going to sleep, whichever time suits you make sure to go through your vision board/journal once.
This will be a reminder for you to keep working to achieve them and motivate you every day to work towards your dream.
I feel people over-complicate making a vision board/Journal.
You can also journal your small achievements if you have decided to make a journal or document your journey.
Keep things private until you actually see the results and then maybe once you achieve all of them share it with your friends and family or your social media community to inspire them.
I hope this helped you to get a clear idea of how to make a vision journal/board. And, also to plan out your year ahead.
Although, my newsletters will be more about my journey as a digital creator as an artist/writer.
But since it’s the beginning of the year, we all look for such inspiration and I figured there is nothing wrong with starting my newsletter with this inspiring action.
Being my first newsletter—I know it’s imperfect and has a lot of room for improvement.
But the best part is—I finally have managed to write one down and send it across.
Isn’t that the big step to celebrate?
What about you? Have you made your vision board/journal?
Are you planning on making one?
I want to know more.
Also, before I bid adieu if you still haven’t got a chance to read my e-book on “How I Became a Better Copywriter and Got Faster Results by Beating Procrastination.: grab it here.
It’s free.
I’ll see you next Wednesday with another valuable packed newsletter. t
Till then, let’s keep crushing our goals—even better than our crush crushed our hearts.
