Is your brand Pinterest-worthy but soulless?

We often try to run behind visual aesthetic before we even try to understand the foundation.

I can confess that I made this mistake too.

Of running behind, making my branding and aesthetic look good, but it only kept me on edge.

It was a bit overwhelming to see how I was never satisfied with designing my own brand identity and delayed everything else in the process.

Infact, a lot took a backseat, I got exhausted and saw no progress for a long time.

Eventually, I gave up, but the desire to stand out, to make my dreams come true, didn’t give up on me.

And, so I decided to bounce back only to do what can be done and improve with time, rather than do it all at once.

So today’s newsletter is not about the case study I am dying to share; it’s not ready yet.

Today’s newsletter is about what you should do before you even think about starting to brand or get your business brand identity designed.

1) Get your “whys" clear.

Why are you doing what you are doing, and who will benefit from it?

Your brand shouldn’t just be about you, but you also have to make it relatable to your audience.

Your audience, your target market, needs to feel that you know them and you understand their needs.

I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but the job of the entrepreneur is not just about earning money and getting rich.

It’s about finding the gap in the market to understand why your audience needs that comfort, that luxury, or that need that only you can provide through your service or product.

2) What is the driving force behind your brand?

The reason why most businesses and brands fail today is that they do not have any solid reason or a driving force behind their brand.

One needs to have a solid goal and vision to take their brand to heights.

This does need a little guts and a bit of delusion.

But like it’s said, shoot for the moon so you atleast will land on a star, and then it becomes easier to land on the moon.

3) What inspired you to start your brand/business?

I love designing and telling stories.

I love to play around with colors and think of ways to stand out in the market.

I love to see how women in the business world are bringing creativity on board and bringing change in the market.

And, this is why I am here.

I like to help people tell and design their brand stories that will help them stand out and connect more with their audience.

More than that, I am a constant curious learner who loves to keep evolving, keep learning new things, and try to use them for my own betterment with my own goals and plans.

When you truly become a lifetime learner, it really helps you to broaden your mindset, and that’s what one needs today to grow brands and business.

So basically, it’s never about how good your logo is, how good you look on camera while talking about your business, or why your brand is different.

It’s all about what real value you are bringing to the market, why your audience should trust you, and how you are bringing ease to your target audience’s life.

How are you making them feel seen, heard, and understood?

The answers to all these questions help you to dive deeper and connect directly with your audience, which helps you in the long run.

And, when you answer all of these questions, it becomes a part of storytelling, which is your brand soul…

That is why-even if your brand identity is Pinterest worthy but losing the real essence of branding, then you need to reconsider and go back to building the real foundation of your branding and business.

Often, while running behind money or trying to make your brand/business aesthetically look good, we forget the fact that the main goal of any business is to bring ease and value to your targeted audience.

So, what is the driving force behind your brand/business or the idea you are working on?

I will take a leave for today and hopefully get back to you next Wednesday with my next case study or a new insight into my idea of branding.

And, the reason why I was away last Wednesday because the artist in me was busy doing this…

Yeah! That moon art is done by me…

So stay tuned till next Wednesday.

Till then, stay healthy and keep yourself sane enough to work for your dreams.
