Change Begins Within: Why Your Mindset Matters More Than Motivation. (From a woman to another)

Let's not be a Cinderella waiting to be saved, rather become your own super hero and save yourself.

This is a personal letter from one woman to another.

Let’s not be a Cinderella waiting to be saved—
Be your own superhero and save yourself.

One of the most important lessons I have learned from freelancing is,

If you can’t adapt to the changes and bring the efforts to the table, you won’t be able to survive the race.

No matter how much talent and skills you hold, if you don’t really show up, do the hard work of cold emailing, presenting yourself, and your work with confidence.

There is no way anyone will trust you, and no way you can get your desired clients.

Show up with consistency, keep working on improving yourself, adapt to changes, and solve a real problem.

This is how you not only excel in freelancing but also in real life…

Since childhood, you’ve been brought up with this mindset that one day you’ll get to live life on your own terms.

And that one day is when you get married.

Want that expensive, pretty saree? — “Get it on your wedding.”

Want to travel the world? “Travel with your husband.”

Want to start a business? “Do it after marriage.”

Like everyone else, you start to believe that you’ll only get to breathe and truly live once you get married.

But what if…
You get married and still never get a chance to live your dreams?
Or… what if you never get married at all?

Does that mean your life stops?
Is your worth tied to a man or a marriage?
What about your dreams and wishes?

Will anyone else care about the aching pain of your broken dreams?

Will you really live the rest of your life with regret?

Then why are you still waiting for someone—or this cruel world—to give you permission to build the life you desire?

Here’s the truth:
The problem isn’t the people around you.
It isn’t the world.
It isn’t your circumstances.

The real problem is your mindset.

People with half your talent and fewer resources are out there building their dream life. What’s stopping you?

Stop sulking. Stop waiting.

Take back the power. Take back control.

You need a serious mindset shift—from living in self-pity to becoming someone who takes full ownership of her life.

But how?

By taking small steps towards your dreams.
By choosing consistent action over temporary motivation.
By having the relentless courage to keep showing up.

Your life won't change until you change.
And that change begins from within—your thoughts, your habits, your mindset.

You can’t expect the world to respect you if you don’t build yourself into someone worth respecting.

Becoming your higher self isn’t about buying branded clothes or owning an iPhone.
It’s about knowing how to carry yourself, how to speak, and how to disconnect from environments that don’t serve your growth.

Redefine yourself—not how the world sees you, but how you want to be seen and heard.

Find that thing that makes you you, outside of the roles of daughter, wife, sister, and mother.

For me?
It’s my art—painting and writing.
These define me beyond what others expect from me.
This is my identity, my outlet, my strength.

I’ve started distancing myself from people who only gossip or spread negativity.
I’ve begun investing in my mindset through reading, through meaningful YouTube videos, through podcasts that teach me how to think deeper and become more self-aware.

I’ve realized one important truth:

Until I change,
Until I grow capable of handling what I’m praying for—
I won’t be granted it.
My Creator will test me until I’m ready.

So I keep showing up confidently and consistently.

One way I do that is by writing to you every Wednesday.
By share my art on Instagram to connect with art lovers.
By showing up on social media, to spread my stories to people who might need to hear them.

This is what real change looks like.
Small, consistent actions.
Taking charge of what’s in your control.

So, tell me—
Why wait for the right time or the right person to save you?

When you can be your own saviour—
Maybe the right time is now.

Before I take a leave, I wish to share that I am taking a 30-day writing challenge on Medium, and I would love it if you would follow me along my journey and cheer me up.

Tell me what steps you promise to take today to get closer to the higher version of yourself?

Signing off for now, see you next Wednesday.
