Books are my best friend, philosopher, and guide.

Reading books is like an exercise to your mind.

What’s the one thing common between all the successful people?

They read books.

They read good books.

And, they never feel reading is a waste of time.

Do you read books?

No, I won’t judge you for reading just fiction stories.

Reading fiction books is how I started my journey too.

Let me tell you my story.

I never used to read books.

But in 7th grade, I had a desk partner who used to read a lot of books.

She even had a library card from the school to borrow books from the library.

This friend of mine was a new admission.

I had never even entered my school library in all those years.

So one day, I picked up a book while she was reading the other one.

I was curious about what exactly she finds so entertaining that she hardly talks and is always engrossed in these books.

The book I had picked was ‘Secret Seven’ by Enid Blyton.

I remember—once I started reading I couldn’t stop.

I had to borrow the book and promised her to give it back the next day.

I went home finished it, took the library application fees from Mom…

And, since then there was no looking back.

The Secret Seven series by Enid Blyton became my fav.

And, then I ventured out to other fiction books from there.

That’s how I got into the magical world of books.

And, today I am a book hoarder.

I love books.

Infact, this month even though I really was trying to save money I already ordered 2 books.

That’s how much I love books.

So even in my journey as a reader, I started with fiction books.

However, with time I have started reading non-fiction and self-help books too.

Books have given me the comfort that no human has —till date.

They teach you so much that your whole academic career fails to teach you.

They make you so wise, that you feel smart around your circle.

Fiction books teach you empathy, and to understand someone else’s perspective.

So even reading fiction books does bring a lot of change in your mindset and thought process.

Once, you find books that you enjoy reading there is no going back.

I really judge people who don’t read books. (Just Kidding)

But I love to vibe with people who read books.

My favorite books are:

1) The fault in our stars: — John Green.

2) Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982—A Korean literature book.

3) One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern

4) The Monk who sold his Ferrari.

And of course, The Harry Potter Series.

And the list goes on…

Yes, I don’t have one particular book that’s my favorite. I have a huge list. These are some that came to my mind.

I forgot Khaled Housseni’s work one of which stands out is “The Kite Runner.”

My favorite from recent reads is The Man Called Ove—by Fredrick Backman, he is my top favorite author. And, his other book The Anxious People is another one I found amazing.

My current reads are:

Influence—The psychology of persuasion By Robert B Cialdini.

Don’t sweat the small stuff— and it’s all small stuff— by Richard Carlson.

So that’s it for today.

I tried my best to keep this short and engaging. I am still learning about Newsletters.

Hope you being my initial audience will understand.

I would love to know if you read books and what are you currently reading.
